Overview
ART
The Visual and Performing Arts Department studio courses are based on practical applications that develop the skills required for creative expression and growth in the arts. In the visual arts, these include courses ranging from basic drawing to advanced watercolor and sculpture.
MUSIC
You can get more than a great education in engineering or a science-related field at MTU. There are opportunities for you to pursue your musical interests as well. We offer a number of ensembles and classes in music.
THEATRE
Many exciting opportunities await students interested in acting, costuming, set design, lighting, sound, stage crew and house management. We offer a Mainstage Season featuring three major productions, and an occasional Second Season which showcases experimental productions, new scripts, and reader's theatre. The opening of the new Rozsa Performing Arts Center added exciting new dimensions to Michigan Tech's theatre program, which currently stages most performances in its 260-seat Black Box McArdle Theatre.
